Recap
Quite a lot of foreign capital entered in Vukovar if we take in consideration the needs of a Croatian second-league team. During the winter transfer period, they were quite active. Thus, their new reinforcements are the German Tarless Knoll, who played for Slaven Belupo last season, and immediately he scored two goals against Croatia Zmijavci and Dragovoljac. Also, they signed Italian Franco Saccone, Ghanaian Clement Awounyo, and the Argentines Capitani and Jara. When we add to them some well-known names who have been playing in Vukovar for some time, such as Josip Barisic, Dario Rugasevic, and their top scorer Colombian Robin Gonzalez, we get a very strong team. They are in phenomenal form undefeated in the last 11 matches (8-3-0) with 5 wins in a row.
On the other hand, Solin has not won a point in the spring part with 3 consecutive defeats, and what is even more devastating is that they have not even scored a goal. Such results led to the departure of coach Toni Golem from the bench, and his successor has not yet been officially named. To make the situation even worse today, two key players Topic (17/3) and Novak-Stanko (14/0) are missing. Vukovar is -6 points away from first place and simply has no right to a setback in order to maintain its chances of promotion.
