Recap
What Douglas Jacobsen’s team “builds” with great effort at home, they tear it down in the very next away game against Vasteras SK. This was repeated for the second set of matches, as an impressive home win over then-leaders Utsikten was followed by a 2-0 defeat away to Vasteras. Offensively, they didn’t look particularly threatening and were fairly beaten. Thus, they are in 12th place in the standings, 1 point higher than the barrage line. Mikael Bengtsson’s team looked unrecognizable in the home match against GAIS and experienced a shameful 0-6 defeat. They entered lazily and “paid” for it by conceding a goal in the 2nd minute, while in the 17th minute, they were left with 10 players. Until the break, they conceded two more goals and in the replay the rampage continued with three more goals. Thus, they remained in 6th place in the standings with a difference of 10 points from the 3rd privileged position. The only problem is the absence of the main midfielder and best player Adrian Edqvist (22/3 and 3 assists), who was sent off in the last game.
Sundsvall has turned into a home team of late, where they also beat former leaders Utsikten. The fact that they are undefeated in the last 4 at home, gives them a psychological boost for today’s battle. Gefle will try to pick up the pieces after the embarrassing defeat and seems to have a hard task away from Gavlevallen.
