Struga is the reigning champion of Macedonia. They had a phenomenal last season, with the best defense in the league, and played also in the Cup final. The club is financially stable with a good sponsor (one of the top 5 construction companies in the country) and has a quality team to be again in the race for the title. They started the season early due to a European campaign, and were eliminated by Zalgiris in the Champions League, but were successful in the Conference League against Buducnost and Hesperang. After the undeserved defeat in the first match against Breidablik (0-1), they played the second match on Thursday in Iceland and lost again by 1-0.

Due to the bad weather conditions at Reykjavík airport, all flights were canceled on Friday, including the flight of Struga to return home from Iceland via Frankfurt. They were still in Reykjavík on Saturday, and the unpredictable delay in the team’s agenda has also worried coach Duro, given that this match is on Monday. If they arrive today in Skopje, they have an additional 4 hours of bus travel (Skopje-Struga), where half of the road is really bad (due to reconstruction works).
