Recap
Sochaux drew in the derby against Bordeaux at home. It didn’t start well in the game, the visitors had the upper hand, created opportunities, and opened the score in the 30th minute after a mistake in defense. However, ten minutes later, Sochaux found the equalizer with a long-range free kick. They extend their unbeaten run to eight games (4-4-0), this was their second draw in a row, and remain in third place just a point behind second-placed Bordeaux (who has an easy match against Nimes at home). The only absence is Weissbeck (25/5). Grenoble have a solid season and took an important victory against Annecy in the last round, which was the first win after four matches (1-2-2). Today, coach Vincent Hognon has to deal with many key absences like Phaeton (27/8 top scorer), Bambock (25/1), Gaspar (23/1), Sbaï (17/0), Ngando (14/0), Nestor (10/0), Isola (4/0), and Mendy (2/0). There is an immediate need for a return to winning ways for Sochaux in order to keep the promotion race with Bordeaux.
