The Japan Football Association on Tuesday announced the cancellation of Thursday’s friendly match against Jamaica after half of the Caribbean nation’s players were unable to travel to Japan. Eight of Jamaica’s 10 Europe-based players were prevented from boarding their scheduled Sunday flight at Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport after their negative test certificates of Covid 19 were rejected by their airline.
Since missing out on Euro 2020 via a penalty shootout, Serbia has gone seven games without defeat (W3, D4) including three under new manager Dragan Stojković. His experience could be key to success in this one given that he’s previously played and managed in Japan, the host nation for this friendly. Serbia has some absence for this match, but with players like Aleksandar Mitrović, Dušan Vlahović, Dejan Joveljić, and Filip Đuričić in offense, Jamaica defense will have huge problems.
The Reggae Boyz will be weekend for the Kirin Cup, and this is a huge chance for Serbia to easily won this game.
