Recap
Vardar Skopje comes to the SNP dome in Heidelberg for the second leg of the qualifying round of the Euro League. The Rhein-Neckar Löwen have the best chance of progressing because Sebastian Hinze’s team will certainly not make the mistake of taking the game lightly after the decisive 34:25 in the first leg. In the Bundesliga opener at Göppingen, they had a really hard time and made a lot of technical mistakes and in the end, it was youngster David Móré who saved at least one point with his last-second goal. Vardar is turning over a new page this summer, several key players left the club, and young and promising players have arrived in their place, who have yet to prove themselves in the red and black jersey. The battle when it comes to this European double-header is lost, but must play fo their honor and the reputation of the two-time European champion. This team is a shadow of former European champions and lost the title after 20 years in the domestic championship by their arch-rival Eurofarm Pelister, who will play in the Champions League this season.
The Germans are always disciplined and enter in every match with a maximum approach and I don’t see how these youths of Vardar can stay without a double-digit defeat.
