The 3rd round of the 34th edition of the Men’s European Volleyball Championship will continue today, where the host team Macedonia, will meet the three-time world champions and European champions from 2019 Poland. What can I say about the Polish team… simply they are playing with 50% of their potential, showing their monster face after a 1-0 in sets against the second-best team in the group Netherlands. They smashed them in the next 3 sets and took the second victory, after a clear 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic (25-17, 25-20, and 25-20). In the premier against the Czech team, they rotated the team a lot and main outfield spiker Wilfredo León was on the bench all match.
I just came back home from the Macedonia – Montenegro match and was impressed by the players. They completely outplayed the Montenegrin and achieved the main goal to qualify for the 1/8 finals. Now, we are playing against the best teams in the group Poland and Netherlands, and coach Milenkovski knows that must rotate the team in order to rest some of the main players because 4-5 of them are older than 33 years. He said that our small chance for to take 3rd place is the direct match against the Czech Republic in the last round.
All in all, I don’t think that we will win 20 or more points per set, and this line is a GIFT.
