Tuesday’s decision by the Permanent Neutral Court of Arbitration, according to which SV Stripfing, as champions of the Regionalliga Ost, can now be promoted to 2. Liga, further fuels the relegation battle, as three teams could now be affected. Lafnitz is one of the few teams that are safe from relegation and are coming to Greisbergers Betten-Arena into a kind of siesta mode with four defeats in a row. Their trainer Philipp Semlic, announced his departure after this season at the beginning of the month and wants to take the next step in his career.
After a promising start to the second half of the season with 3 victories in a row, Liefering seemed to be heading towards the top or a single-digit place in the table. But then a downward trend followed, with only 1 win in the last 8 games. With 31 points and only 2 ahead of the relegation zone, the Fabio Ingolitsch team is in danger. In the two final games, they will play against relegation rivals Sturm Graz (Am) and Austria Vienna (Am), and this is a must win match for them against the team who secure their place in  2. Liga and seems to be out of breath.
