Eintracht Frankfurt played once in the Champions League, in 1963 and reached the final. They won the Europa League last year, where they were unbeaten and became the 5th Bundesliga team to play in UCL. In the championship, they started numbly, but the strengthening of the roster and the presence of Oliver Glasner on the bench, brought them on the right track. Two consecutive wins against Werder Bremen and Leipzig, where they scored 4 goals, bring back the self-confidence and today they welcome Portuguese Sporting, who are in big trouble at the start of the season. They finished in 2nd place in the Portuguese Championship and secure a direct place in the group stage second consecutive year. Last season, they reached 1/16 finals, being eliminated by Manchester City. Things are not going well for Sporting, who already have two defeats in Liga Portugal (2-1-2) and are -8 points behind leaders Benfica. After two straight defeats, they beat Estoril away by 0:2 thanks to their dynamic start with two goals after 14 minutes. They have have never won in Germany, and have a really bad score against German teams. This is a premiere for Eintracht in the Champions League, and crowd always gives a boost to the home team. Sporting is not doing well defensively, and I think that Eintracht Frankfurt can score at least two goals.
