Recap
The coach from Norwegian Vipers Kristiansand, Gjekstad, arrived in Odense before the season and the main target is to win the Champions League, just like Vipers in recent seasons. The coach Gjekstad prefers an offensive and very quick style of play and this was confirmed in the first round, when they beat Aarhus 42:19 at home. Odense was additionally strengthened before the season, with the arrival of a Dutch goalkeeper Yara ten Holte from Dortmund, known for her quick passing. Then came the super wings, the Norwegian Malin Aune from CSM Bucharest, Halilcevic from Nykobing, Hansen from Copenhagen, and the Dutch van Wetering. The new coach took Dahl from Vipers and Thale Deila from Molde with him from the Norwegian league to make a super strong team.
Copenhagen is really weak this season. The team stayed without a lot of quality players, such as the German goalkeeper Filter, pivot Lykkegaard, another pivot Hvenfelt, and wings Woller and Hansen. Those replacements, even for the former goalkeeper of Odense, Thor, and the winger Cohrt, are not adequate, which was already confirmed in the first round of the league when Copenhagen lost to a barely average team Skanderborg 27:24. Last season, Odense won 24:38 in this hall and 40-29 at home, and will easily cover this line.
