Lazio’s preparations for their Champions League clash against Club Brugge were thrown into chaos following fears of a Covid outbreak within the squad. According to the information’s, Simone Inzaghi was left with a depleted squad for an away trip to Belgium. Only 12 players trained on the eve of the Champions League encounter. Andreas Pereira, Lucas Leiva, Manuel Lazzari, Danilo Cataldi, Luiz Felipe, Thomas Strakosha, Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto, and Nicolo Armini were missing from training. The reasons for their absence from training have yet to be officially explained by the Serie A outfit but there are big concerns there has been a Covid outbreak. On the injury, list is Silvio Proto, Stefan Radu, Senad Lulic, and Adam Marusic is questionable. Club Brugge made the perfect start to their Champions League campaign after a surprising win against Zenit in Russia despite heavy problems with Covid 19. I think that they will use this absence to make another big win which will be a huge step in the fight for the first two places on the table.
