The head coach of Çankaya Çağrı Özek, criticized the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) for the early start of the 2023-2024 season. Since the league started early, the number of key players are missing, and best two foreign players are not available, while top scorers from last season Americans White Chantella and Shavonte Zellous left the team. All teams have made serious investments. They have hired four foreigners and everyone bought high-quality foreigners. This is also linked to money. This situation is more difficult for clubs like us – said coach Özek. They couldn’t go through the preparation process well, playing only two friendlies against weak Ormanspor (61:70) and Nesibe Aydin (89-65).
