In the first quarter-final match of the FIBA Europe Cup, Anwil Włocławek will face the Turkish Gaziantep in a two-legged match.
Gaziantep, like all of Turkey, has been hit by a great tragedy, but on the sports side – the Turks are one of the favorites of the tournament. They went through the second round of the FEC undefeated with a 6-0 score. They have top quality players like Leyton Hammonds, Olivier Hanlan, and Damyean Dotson, who has played over 200 games in the NBA.
Anwil Włocławek will unfortunately have to cope without its best player and top scorer in the FEC games – Phil Greene IV. The American, who averages 17.2 points in each game, suffered a muscle strain in the match against King Szczecin and will certainly not play in Wednesday’s game. Without the American, the Polish team will have a lot of problems and I think that Gaziantep has enough quality to win the match.
