The Serie C – group A championship will be opened at Moccagatta, where Alessandria will host Novara. There are many question marks and uncertainties concerning the Alessandria team. Starting with the squad available to the new coach, Fulvio Fiorin , who is approaching his league debut with more than a few doubts for the starting eleven. The summer market session, in fact, has almost completely dismantled the squad (Galeandro (39/9 top scorer), captain Sini (35/0), Checchi (32/2), Martignago (30/5), Baldi (30/1), Speranza (29/2), Lombardi (23/1), Sylla (22/5), Mionic (17/0), Lamesta (15/2), and Guidetti (15/0) left) that last year conquered salvation in Serie C, bringing very few substitutes with experience in the category. Furthermore, most of the latter were engaged close to the end of the transfer period on 31 August, leaving very little time available for coach Fiorin to get to know the newcomers better and amalgamate the team.
Other uncertainties concern the corporate aspect is the transfer of ownership from Luca di Masi to Enea Benedetto kicked off one of the most nebulous summers in recent years . The existing relationship between Benedetto and Pedretti, formally still united in the “co-patronage” at the helm of the Grays, is a huge unknown, a “telenovela” made up of arrivals and departures, announcements and denials, e-mails and missing replies, apparently still far from the final episode.
Novara seems to have played a rather intense pre-season (8 matches) with some prominent friendlies (Sampdoria and Milan) in which they have almost always done well. The squad has been completed since 10 August, and they worked really well. I think that are better prepare and organized in comparison to the home side, and should take the first win.
