Historic day! AEK is returning home after 19 years! In a grand event on Friday (30/9) the opening of the OPAP ARENA took place and today it will play the first match in its brand new stadium in front of 31,000+ fans. In the previous round, they had the most convincing performance and took a comfortable (0:2) win in Agrinio against Panetolikos. They are looking for the second consecutive win for the first time in the season, which will put them in 2nd place. Due to injuries, unavailable are Tzavellas (5/0), Hajsafi (5/0), Jonsson (4/0), and van Weert (1/0). Ionikos can’t raise their head with anything, receiving their 4th defeat away to Volos. They remained with just 1 point and of course at the bottom. Coach Spanos said that they lost the calmness and faith in the team, while the team’s president said that he still believes in Spanos decisions. Today, key defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy (5/0) and midfielder Aias Aosman (4/0) are out of the team. Ionikos will hardly spoil AEK’s celebration and I think that AEK shouldn’t have any problems to take a convincing win.
